Rounding the corner, I almost ran into two beautiful children leaning forward with the determined marching steps that announce the courage and joy of entering the first day of school. I knew their mother, who spoke as she marched her troops, leading prouding, to the corner to cross the street.
Their daddy sat sentry down the street, in the driver's seat. Awaiting the mission accomplished, as the school and car doors shut to divide the world between young and old. Moomy was swinging a Nikkon with a telephoto lens normally reserved for sports, or Life used for documenting American life and giant barrel in her hand instead of a forgotten lunch bag. Had she gotten the shot? Nonchalant and casual, technology, applied, creative idea, same shot, new year, marking their growth, Bigger than an attache case or book bag.
